Looks like Team 17 are finally getting around to remaking it. Probably for XBLA or PSN by the looks of things.

Given that Team 17 have said that it'll be created using a fair size budget, i'll hold out some hope for it.

Given the Bitmap Brothers have done Speedball 2 : Brutal Deluxe on XBLA, The Chaos Engine may be along in due course. Alien Breed is an absolute classic though.
