Science says nope.
I'm not sure how this one passed me by, but last month NASA released the findings of the most compelling evidence yet that there was once life on Mars after Perserverance analysed some "leopard spot" samples from an ancient riverbed.

A sample collected by NASA’s Perseverance Mars rover from an ancient dry riverbed in Jezero Crater could preserve evidence of ancient microbial life. Takenwww.nasa.gov
Now, we've all heard this many....many.... times before and they always end up being explained away by other non-biogenic processess, but the vibe around this one is seemingly different, with no obvious or easily explanable abiotic reasons.
Matt from PBS Spacetime has done a good video on it
I really don't think it's that unlikely.

You have to realise the timescales involved are almost incomprehensible to most people (myself including) the atmosphere and make up of mars was very different a long, long time ago.
If you think of "life" like a disease that can spread easily if the habitat can support.
It wouldn't be hard if were carried around in asteroids etc.
