Ah, Predator... what a film, what a soundtrack (pity the original is discontinued)

I liked all of the films, though I'm not a total fanboy, also the first AVP2 game (how many games are there now?) was great. Watch the films in order they were released, play AVP2 as a marine, if you dare.

How can people say ressurection is better than 3? 3 is a great film read is just a pathetic action film dross with aliens in!

That alien 5 sounds garbage. Stop crossing the films it doesn't work.

God knows. Resurrection is not an Alien film, it's just a stupid pile of **** that just happens to include some Aliens.

Alien 5? Do you mean Aliens vs Predator? If so, yep, it's garbage.

I watched both Alien and Aliens, I though they were a little bit to similar for my liking but I did enjoy Alien a lot.

How are they a little too similar? They both have an Alien/s and Ellen Ripley in them, but other than that.....

One is a claustrophobic tense horror, the other is an all out action fest.

I'm expecting Prometheus will screw up the continuity and canon of predator, AvP, AvP2 and some fo the comics. But that remains to be seen.

all out action film compared to tense suspense horror? they are totally different movies IMO.

Honestly can't think of another series that stretched the boundries of a genre between sequels as much.

To the OP's question, watch the Alien films on order, then Predator, then move on to AvP if you must.

AVP 1 tries to explain the history of alien and predator but ends up being pretty boring.

AVP 2 is far better IMO.

Aliens is the best film of all though.

I gather the director's cut of Alien 3 is worth a watch, but I've not seen it so can't say for sure. There's no excuse for watching Alien Resurrection, though.

Alien 3 directors/workprint cut is a solid movie, ignore the theatrical release.

Pick up the Alien BluRay box set - amazing value for money. Be aware that each franchise has it's own cannon. The comics and VS films also have their own.

I thoguht Aliens, whilst predoinantly action basd, carried out off the smattering of tense/suspense horror moments it did have fantastically, even better than some of the Alien moments.
