Alien swarm wont open

When I try and start the game it says "swarm\GameInfo.txt is not a valid format", has this happened to anyone else? and is there a way to fix this?

Sounds like a download error, you probably got a corrupted file. I'd try again.

Right Click -> Properties -> Local Files tab -> Verify Integrity

I have uninstalled it already now, I will just download it again and see if it works.
