What is it with the re-occurring Ripley character? I want Special Forces Marine squads and lots of guns! At least the teens are getting slaughtered - bonus points.

nothing will ever come close to the feel of the original Alien and especially Predator
as said above, the unknown factor of the films is what makes them
i liked watching AvP (as a chance to see a predator again), although it was a pretty poor film!
they should keep the main cast to a very small number, so you 'care' about them more if they're in a spot of bother (or die)
a wreslter like Jon Cena (spelling) would fit the role pretty well, they need to limit the cheese and use characters who don't speak that much..

I thought it was van dam dood that was playing the original predator in the 1st film? I swear I read that somewhere cos he complained for not getting mentioned in the credits !
oh well must be totaly wrong !
Anyhow I oddly enjoyed AvP1, yes bad and not so gorey but it was just the beginning... the 2nd and 3rd can hopefully only get better roll on Xmas !

He was going to be the Predator...Until the producers/director realised that half the cast were six foot plus body builders and VD is a midget.

EDIT: According to Wiki he was only 7'2½"

I thought the first AvP was pretty good!
I'm not sure about this one as It looks a bit predictable. I feel I have seen the movie just by watching the trailer, theres no mystery! Heres the script:
People in a small town notice strange animals in the woods. People start to die and before you know it Aliens (and predators) are overrunning all over town and killing people. A band of good looking survivors and a female with attitude get together and try to survive this nightmare.
Meanwhile the military aren't interested in helping out the survivors but instead want to nuke it from orbit. Cue the survivors getting killed off one by one as they get out of town with the added danger of getting out before the nuke hits. The good looking man and the good looking women make it out with a child or two because they couldn't possibly let a young defenseless child get ripped apart by an alien.
In closing the nuke goes off and just as the credits roll we see that shock-horror a lone alien has escaped the blast!

But who really Gives a ****?
It's the same plot as a million other films but it is the execution that is key.
This is a film about bloody aliens landing on earth and killing each other/people. Not some docu-drama.
Sit down, shut up and enjoy the gore and explosions.

That could be any horror film though this series has a well established universe and mythology set up to rely on.
I'd rather a twisting story with some questions answered about the relationship between the aliens and the predators and where they are from etc. Something that actually builds on what has come before rather than just milking the franchise for all its worth.
