I set spoilers in blue so its not easy to read, just highlight to read it if you wana read what i have posted.
Just watched the film a few days ago, it was really good i thought. It felt like a predator film with the original predators music stuff in it. The predator was on a hunt which was mint to go through it with him in the film. The new alien didnt do much for me id prefer a queen which it kinda was actually as it lay eggs without a face hugger. Also i hate the new gestation period is like hours instead of days like in original aliens film at least i think they used days.
I saw a lot of reused stuff in the film, the women with the kid = ripley and newt heck she was even a military women lol. The tank is like the future tank car in aliens, near the end. The jungle was like from predator 1. And loads more comparisons that i could find between this and previous alien or predator films.
I enjoyed every minuite of the film, it had lone predator story, we got to see predators planet, we got to see aliens in droves and moving about and hiding like in aliens which was cool. We have even got some marine type action in with the home guard lol. This film is worth to be with the classics in my opinion predator was true to character, the aliens were true to character (if we ignore the stupid pred alien hybrid) the only thing that would have made it better was more in the forest action instead of in the city which we could have seen more predator jungle type action with skinning and all. But the location wasnt too bad.
So far my fav films would be aliens then predator then predator 2 then avp 2 then alien 3 recut then alien then alien reserection then avp 1.
I hope they do well with this good film and hope to see a trilogy out of avp with avp3, this time tho id prefer in the aliens time frame and perhaps have a predator colony get a infestation from a crashed ship with a alien face hugger on board then go from there or perhaps a predator ship with a lone surviver on a alien infested world and has to wait for a rescue or somit and has to live long enough for em to get there.
