Aliens V Pinball

I've always been a pinball fan, after a 20 years of slow decline with all but one manufacturer closing shop they are back big time, right now there are four makers worldwide making pins ,

I've got two full size ones right here by my PC room, Demolishion man and Startrek the next generation, the latter considered one of the best pins of all time

Nice next gen table you got there usher, I am an owner myself. Next gen is one I've always wanted to get, but as im sure you know, it trips up every 5 minutes, not one for the novice.

STTNG is a complicated machine & also a wide body pin, firing the rotating cannons is good fun but there are planty of things to go wrong although the inbuilt diagnostics are a big help.
So far I've only had the flasher Bridge rectifier fail which only cost £3 but required a careful solder job to replace, it didn't stop the game running normally, just no flashers

It was the first pin to have the patented under playfield ball channels which means when a ball goes down a cellar hole a different pre loaded ball instantly takes it's place & pops up in a different part of the playfield, this involves several diverters & also opto's to track the ball as you already know I expect.
I've seen two on Ebay recently where they both said the game has a fault because it fires 2 or 3 balls when you switch it on but that's normal because it's simply preloading the upkickers .
nevertheless it's a must have pin even if not a Treckie fan :D

Heh, that I know... a must have.

Played it to death when it came out, many times since in private collections and shows. Always been put off by the rom tripping up constantly, maybe one day.

I yearn for the yesteryear of pinball, id be a complete alcoholic were they still in every pub, a couple at home and the computer ain't the same:(

I'm of quite advanced years :p & remember pinballs were everywhere but they will eventually start to reappear here as they have in USA.

Birmingham city centre now has 'Tilt' cafe where there is a row of new & older pins & a bar that serves beer ! I think the pins are supplied & maintained by Pinball lHeaven

I'll check out that place in brum, thanks for the spot. There was one in Leicester, but they packed up last year.

When I was there three months ago I played Adams F, Game of Thrones, Spiderman and Kiss, can't recall the others but there were seven pins in total which may change from time to time
