Alienware Aurora R8 recommended upgrade(s)?

Ok ive successfully installed the extra 8gb RAM and a 1tb SSD.

As for the new GPU the 2 cards I was looking at are listed with a Recommended wattage of 500, My system has 460 PSU.
since its so close could I safely get away with using 1 of these cards or should I avoid? (not sure if the req listed are the retailers or manufacture)

The 2 I was looking at are
EVGA GTX 1660TI XC
EVGA RTX 2060 XC

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £600.48 (includes shipping: £10.50)

rtx would need 500w with a good PSU, gtx 1660ti should be fine

Gigabyte gets a lot of love here with the Rep and being UK RMA based. Zotac have 5 yr RMA, need to register for last 2 years.
EVGA is well liked for its transferable warranty when selling

Yh that gigabyte card was originally what I was looking at, I would need to get some precise measurements tho, think it would be a close fit in the compact case I have. Also been thinking a lot about which card would be best with keeping temps down. (since its all so compact)

Card size
L=225.65 W=122.02 H=40.5 mm

if not

Card Length
173.4mm x 111.15mm x 35.3mm / 6.83in x 4.38in x 1.39in

Ok so i think the gigabyte windforce card would just about fit...
However been doing some thinking and feel I may just take out the 8gb ram and ssd ive added and just sell my alienware pc and get a custom build. I need too much to make it do what im after. The kinda games id want to play I need a better cpu higher psu so i can have better gpu and the compact case of the alienware causes concern of overheating if i were to upgrade gpu.
I know I may loose a bit of money as I wont get back what I paid but as has been said at the start of this thread il get a lot more for my money. Il be looking at s budget of £1000.

Happy to hear some thoughts to help me make up my mind.

Apologies for messing u guys about. Though I have learnt a bunch so its not all for nothing.

@orbitalwalsh - keep him in a spec loop until Ryzen 2 is released.

true , performance will be better , but value of current system will prob drop or just be harder to shift!

antec prices of PSU hard to ignore, wont get better then that! so worth the buy personally , if its going into the alienware or custom build! and you might as well do the GPU at the same time haha

is hard personally quoting B450 at £120 - even though its got wifi , x570 just better

Whats Ryzen 5's intel equivalent? As I was looking at getting an i7 9700k 3.6GHz
(Might up my budget an extra £500 too)

Also can I just remove the extra 8gb RAM & SSD ive added in my Alienware or is there any software I need to go through 1st? Ill hopefully use them again in the new pc

Easier to leave ram in old system and sell it with to be honest . Would t use that speed for a ryzen system .

Most likely 9600k - can clock to 5ghz all cores . Faster for gaming , sometimes on sale for £220 which makes more sense ! Was last week

bout £230-40
