I picked this monitor up a couple of years ago so it's the original model, but has served/is serving me well. I bought it at a time when I wasn't doing a lot of work from home so I overlooked the Gen1 OLED text rendering weirdness and worked around it with font changes etc.

Recently I've started to get headaches and eye strain and spending 8+ hours a day looking at this monitor is starting to take it's toll I feel. I've got another eye test booked as a matter of course, but going by my last eye test I'm pretty sure they'll send me on my way.

Given 2 years has passed since picking this up I was hoping that there are newer panels/technolgy offerings to upgrade to which may help.

I'm a big fan of the UW format, and 3440x1440 so I'm not massively interested in changing screen size or resolution unless there's a strong reason.

GPU wise I've just changed from a 4090 to a 9070XT so I don't need anything with GSync, and resolution wise I think 3440x1440 is the sweet spot for that card. OLED would be preferred for the black levels, but I'm not averse to a different technology.

Is there anything on the market/coming down the pipe that fits the bill?

There is the Alienware AW3425DW though text quality is about the same. The newer 1440p and 4k oled monitors have sub pixel upgardes which help with clearer text.

I did see that, but from what I could see it was the same panel with some bells and whistles.

1440p UW seems to be a bit behind the other panels.

yeah I am not sure why the ultrawides havent been updated. Would a separate monitor for work be an option ?

That thought crossed my mind as well, but I'm not sure how that would work from an ergonomics standpoint with my current desk. I'll give it some thought.
