Alienware m11, anyone got one?

Hi,

Does anyone have an m11, and if so what's your opinion on it?

I am thinking of getting one but was wanting some real life reviews rather than magazine/website reviews or peoples first impression reviews.

had one on launch returned it 3 weeks later....

It might have just been mine or cause it was first batch but here was what I found...

The Bad
It is a 11" laptop with 13" screen... If you look at pics there is a large boarder round the whole screen even bigger at bottom.

Very cheaply made. The case I had creaked after one day. Also the keyboard space button didnt always work.

CPU on orignal batch sucked for gaming laptop. The new I* cpu should be better was advertised as being overclockable... Mine wasnt.

No CD drive. (you will either download or use external)

The Good
Small and portable.

Decent enough gaming performance. just remember the resoloution is only 13** by 9** or somthing but it is good enough for screen.

I bought with SSD so loading times etc were great. Battery was also good maybe 3+ hours depending on game ( I mainly played wow)

Looks (I liked some friends didnt personal prefrence)


Would I buy again?

No and main reason is it is from Dell and I had nightmare with this laptop that they agreed to return. (they were meant to come and fix 4 times but never showed every time. which lead to me losing 4 days holiday in work).

TBH i dont see the point in anything that small either. I am going to be in the market for a new laptop come bonus time early next year. Will probably look at either 13" or 15" as better spec and resolutions. And as noted above 13" really as package isnt much bigger and same spec is a lot cheaper
