Alienware m11x warranty

I've had my Alienware m11x for almost a year now and it came with just one year of warranty.

I've just called Dell to enquire about how much a warranty extension will be and here are the costs:=

1 year of next business day = £165.00
2 years of NBD = £330.00
3 years of NBD = £500.00

I'm getting the feeling that because these m11x's are no longer made they are pricing the warranty extensions to deter customers.

I think i'm going to save the cash and use it towards a replacement laptop when the m11x dies which is a big shame because it's a cracking little laptop.
 
Seems a good alternative and probably one of the only choices now that Dell have discontinued the m11x. Not sure about the 2yr collect and return warranty though, I do like the Dell warranty even knowing exactly how the process works.
 
Ok, something fishy is going on here.............

My Alienware m15x which I sold before buying the m11x had a 3 year warranty extension which I purchased seperatley. I just found the invoice for it..........

So a 3 year NBD day warranty extension for an m15x is £179.99 and the same for an m11x is £500? How can Dell justify the price hike?

I asked the Dell sales rep if there was or had been any promotions on the warranty and he said no and there never has been.
 
As you mentioned is not offered any more so they can bump the price and
1. either you will pay and dell will be v. happy
2. you will be scared that the price is that hight and again Dell will be happy so they don't have to deal with you :D
 
sucks, I was looking at the alienware mx11 but obviously they dont do them anymore.

I ordered the clevo, I do prefer the simplistic look of the clevo over the spaceage in your face steal me look of the alienware, at the price there charging for the warranty your better off buying a new machine if it breaks.
