Hi, I'm going to buy "Alienware M15x Gaming Laptop, Intel i7 840QM 3.2 GHz Turbo CPU, 8GB DDR3 Ram, 500GB SATA HDD, 15.2 inch 1600x900 HD LED Screen"

I was wondering what GPU's I could
put inside of the laptop?

I was hoping for something to play
the latest titles on low at least.

After doing a little bit of research l have found the following cards would be usable.

gtx 460m
gtx 560m
5870m
6970m
6990m
gtx 660m
HD 7970M

The forum.notebookreview.com have a dedicated Alienware M15x Forum, you should be able to find a lot of info there.

But this is so cheap on the bay, ceuotc which one would you recommend? why can't I use the new GPU's. Do they not fit into these motherboards or is it the motherboard just not being compatible.

You can also upgade to the GTX 680M.

I would either get the GTX 680M or the HD 7970M (may have enduro issue tho as l am not sure the M15x has switchable graphics), to upgrade to these you will need the 240 watt psu.

Google M15x HD 7970 for a upgrade video.

If you are keeping the display at 1600*900 then a GTX 660M will be enough, again Google M15x GTX 660M for more info.

I upgraded the display on my G46VW to 1600*900 as well as adding a i7 3610QM and the GTX 660M has enough grunt to run games at high.

Regards

C.
