Hi

I want to get a laptop cooling pad for my Alienware M17X R4, I have googled and found the Coolermaster U3 is the most preferred but most of the posts are from months ago.

I wanted a built in USB 3 hub but this is not Essential.

Have things changed or is the U3 still the best cooling pad for this laptop?

Thanks in advance.

I don't think you even need one, mine doesn't get over 67C GPU even with OC (950/1350 not stable but got through heaven benchmark)
CPU when rendering hits 78C which is a bit toasty
Just make sure to give it like half an inch of extra breathing room, that alone drops temps by 5C. I use a bottle top on the stands and works likea charm

But if youre going to buy one anyway that is the best cooling pad around from I've read

Hi roughavoc

I want something to elevate my laptop screen as well, I use it on my desk with 2 24" monitors so want the the top of the screen to be in line with these, I thought while I was at this I could get a cooler as well as it won't cost much more.

I already have a Kensington laptop stand but at it's lowest point it's still too high.

I know most of the coolers don't have height adjustment but then can easily be modified to elevate the rear.
