Hi all

I have a M17x with the following

Processor : Intel Core i7 Processor 740QM(1.73 Ghz,6MB cache)
Display : 17in WideUXGA 1920 x 1200 - Beyond HD (1200p) - RGB LED
Memory : 4096MB (2x2048) 1333MHz DDR3 Dual Channel
Hard Drive : 1.2TB (2x640GB)
Optical Drive : Internal Blu-Ray RW
Graphics : Dual CrossFire 1GB ATI GDDR5 Mobility Radeon HD 5870
Wireless : Intel Wireless 6300 (802.11a/b/g/n 3X3) LAN Card

kinda thinking i should upgrade ram to 8gb so looking to change it,
so i am calling upon all the forum advice to guide me through this lol

all help would be helpfull

Why you looking to upgrade in the first place?

just find it a bit lagging when multi taking (editing photos and using autocad)
and thought that getting another 4 gb of ram may help ...

try switching to hybrid HD's or true SSD

before you do that, make sure it's your bottleneck (check out windows resource monitor in task manager -> performance). See if you're topping your memory, and if it pages a lot (hard faults). Or if the CPU is maxed.

Then add the RAM and a pair of SSDs anyway
