Hey All,

I have had abit of a rough time lately in terms of my PC, basically I had someone break into my house and they have taken my TV, PC, PS4, and basically anything of value :/

Money wise I don’t have a lot if any to go and buy anything new Sadly, but luckily one of my close friends has an old Alienware X51 R2 and is willing to let me have it. I know this will not be anywhere close to my old spec PC which was water cooled with 980TI in SLI but having no PC is quite frankly beyond boring.

I have heard from previous posts and with some googling that these can be abit of a pain to upgrade due to the power supply, I am wanting to carry on playing Destiny 2 as I have really been enjoying it until the break-in. But I am worried if I will even be able to play it again with the spec of the X51 R2 which is as follows:

CPU: Intel Core i7 (4th Gen) 4770 / 3.4 GHz Quad Core

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 1.5 GB GDDR5 SDRAM

Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 SDRAM - non-ECC (Supports up to 16GB)

HDD: 1TB Sata Drive

PSU: 330W PSU

I am very grateful to my friend for helping me out here but the question is will Destiny 2 be playable with this spec at all even with everything on low a constant 60fps would be nice or will this be impossible due to the GPU?

If this does not work what GPU would I be able to fit in the X51 case and be powerful enough for Destiny 2 and can run on the current power supply.

Thanks, in advance!

Have a look at this.

As for 'what GPU', you have to keep in mind what budget, but also what PSU you'll need.

330W is borderline to say the least, for any type of semi-capable GPU.

Futhermore, that Alienware looks to be a pain for upgrades. I'm not even sure what you can put in that thing.

My guess is, try it and see. Optimise your graphics settings as much as possible.
