I dont post much here, mostly as i just read all the other posts but just had a question.

Currently im using GeIL 1GB (2x512MB) PC5300 667MHz Value DDR2 Dual Channel and have just ordered the same again *today* (2x512MB) .

But have read about many people having problems when jumping to the 2gig size, should i be worried or should they jump in just fine?

my mother board (if it helps to know) is a Abit AW8-MAX Intel 955X.

Im sorry if it seems stupid but this has been my first ever build, and so anything i change is alittle bit of new territory for me.

Thanks in advance!

I should add, im hoping to see a major change when running PS, or am i expecting too much?

You could use Task Manager's performance tab to monitor peak commit charge to determine if the extra gig will be worth your while.

You could also use perfom (I prefer this way). Start -> Run -> Perfmon. Add a new counter from the 'Perfomance Object' dropdown, choosing Memory, then Available MBytes. Change the graph so it's scaled to 1024 (if you have 1GB RAM). Run Photoshop and mess around, watching the graph to see how far your free mem drops.

Yep ive done a few test, not the "Run" one you have just explained that i will try now.

But i can be working on large files with numerous layers and i times when i have quickly checked *usually in the Task manger*, it gone above the 1gb mark.

Do you think i would have any installing problems?.

4 sticks will run fine with Intel, don't know the specifics but you'll have no problems with having to slacken timings/reduce speed with all four sticks.
