All browsers keep freezing for 5 seconds!! help please!!

Hi Everyone,

I have just started to have the wierdest problem on my PC. All my browsers Chrome, IE9 and Firefox keep freezing for like 5 seconds every couple of minutes and then unfreezing when using them. This happens every couple of minutes.

It is getting highly annoying and I cannot get rid of it. Any suggestions to try or has anyone else experienced similar issues?

My setup:

Windows 7 Ultimate 64
Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3 Mobo
i5 2500k not overclocked
16GB RAM
3 x 1TB Seagate HDDs in RAID 5
Sophos Antivirus
 
Having the same problem here with firefox and IE. Done a full scan with windows defender and malwarebytes which came up clear. Don't know whats going on but very annoying.
 
This seemed to have started yesterday for no reason. Begining to suspect it has somthing to do with my broadband provider. Problem seems to come and go, the longer the browser is open the fewer problems I have.
