Hi Guys,
My PC has been running all good until a couple of days ago where most of my games except some like TF2 crash on startup. The start menu lags on Counter Strike: GO and then crashes with looping audio and the screen goes black and does not come back on. I have tryed Updating the Motherboard BIOS and setting my CPU back to Default settings but no luck.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Have you tried putting your gpu back at stock? I notice in your sig its overclocked. Also try shutting down or disabling any overlay before starting the game.

When was the last time you sucked the dust out ? You checked the temps ?

Afterburner often did the same thing for me. Black screen and looping sound

Disable the overlay folks or shut down afterburner, start the game then enable afterburner.

Or you can do the smart move and create a profile in rivatuner OSD for the game in question. Then select 'custom 3d support' to on.

This is afterburner 101.

Disclaimer: If that doesn't work then the laws of physics are being broken and i have no idea.

Cool, tryed setting the GPU's back to default and it runs good. So what would be the best bet if I wanted to re-apply an overclock?

so if this was the problem you need to lower the clocks, probably almost all 7950s will run at 1000mhz at default voltages. (at least the boost editions will do, because of the higher default voltage)

my cards I can benchmark at 1180mhz, but I cannot play at this speed, I can play at 1150mhz with 1.3v, but usually I keep them at 1000 or 1100 max, depending on the game.

try running your cards at 1100, if it doesn't work, lower to 1050 or 1000.

Thankyou, I will give it a go!
As both of my cards are different it throws the clocks and voltages all over the place! xD

I have found that it seems to be games that are stored on my HDD that are crashing. The one's on my SSD are fine?!

Tom

run error checking on the Seagate, right click it/tools/error checking and fix any errors

Impressed, either people (except one) don't actually read what gets posted or they worked out the OP did not mean what he said

Anyway, all seems well now :D
