Yes Lewis Hamilton is an awesome driver but you'll get a few peoples backs up unfortunately suggesting we should worship him as many here are still sceptical

just my take ...

I think he's insanely arrogant, and all things considered, has to accept that, regardless of his obvious natural talent, has still got a lot to learn to become a world champion. No doubt if he doesn't win the world championship he will kick off and cry and moan about his team or team mate.

Sure, that'll look like a jealous point of view, and yeah, of course i'd love to be racing an F1 car, but at the same time, you have to agree that he is a cheeky little oik !!

Apparently its the other way around and Alonso proclaimed that Hamiltons win was 'lucky' and he is getting 'better' treatment with him being a British Driver driving for a British Team. Sour grapes? I seen it briefly covered on

All the greats are. I dont want to speak badly of the dead but senna, he was an absolute git far worse then schumacher.
This guy just strikes me as a natural, irritating that it is but you cant throw yourself around a track at upto 200mph and not be stupidly confident

M

I thought Hill and Mansell were pretty ok blokes from what I remember ...

and yeah, you have to be borderline cocky to have the balls to get the car round the track that fast and consistently .... but I just feel his attitude is appauling, scary that if the papers are even half close he could be earning 50 million a year including sponsorship deals....

I've only ever seen him behave in an exemplary manner and speak politely of and to the other drivers. Where is all this hate coming from, is it simply jealousy?
Button should take a hint and get a job driving the team truck or something. He had plenty of chances and didn't capitalise on any of them. Now he doesn't have the confidence because he knows it.

They were the exceptions, not the rule

Sceptical? Nah. I agree he's very good and a future world champion. I'm just fed up with the constant coverage by the media declaring him as the second coming. This is nothing against Lewis, I've never been one for jumping on a drivers bandwagon purely because of their nationality and found the coverage of Hill and Button just as annoying. I also know that before long I'll have to suffer all the clueless flag waving idiots with no understanding of the sport that a successful british driver inevitably attracts.

As for Lewis himself, people have to remember that he's not the raw rookie that everyone makes out. The years of grooming by Ron Dennis and time spent in the simulator that most rookies haven't had is probably the equivalent to a couple of seasons experience. Coupled with the fact that he has come straight into the best car on the grid at a time when the cars are more reliable than they have ever been and you can see why he's doing so well compared to other rookies.

I'd love to know what you are basing that on, everything I've seen of him he comes across as a bit cocky sure but how can you not be driving a car around a track at those speeds, apart from that he seems like a genuine guy happy to have got the opportunity to be in F1, but to say his attitude is appauling

Yer, he has like, loads more experience and a FAR faster car than Alonso..

Not for 1 second has he given that impression. I mean, not even a hint of it. Which interview or piece of footage you saw him in gave you that idea?

I believe this is true. Alonso (as much as I quite like the guy) can't cope with losing and this shows in his driving and his words. When it works he's awesome, when its going a bit south, he tends to lose it.

Lewis really is an arrogant lad but I would be to if I had that much confidence in my ability. If you cut the lad in half it would say McLaren through and through. Ron Dennis has only had one idea for Lewis and thats the top step.

He reminds of being in school where you had that group of know it alls that would go into an exam and at the start and its all "Gosh, I hope I do well" and when the results come its like this faux surprise they get A+ and a handshake from god.

Kinda helps when your cars awesome, stick any of 10 drivers in the Mclaren and they could win imo.

Massa, Kimi, Alonso, Heidfeld, Hamilton, Trulli, Fisi, Rubens even Rosberg and DC could win at the "right" track.
