Hi there,

So I've got about 5 remotes in my lounge which is bugging me massively - hence I thought I'd look inot getting an all in one, and off course it needs to look good and serve it's function

I'm currently looking at the Logitech Harmony range in particular the Harmony 1000

Has anyone got any experience with this and or other remotes?

Help!!

Thanks for that Badbob,

My knowledge in this area is limited and I was just reading something in the London Lite about the Logitech on the train home tonight and thought how sweet it would be to have one unit do all the work.

Seems with any unit a certain amount of time is needed to configure these things.

I'll only be operating 4 poss 5 things with it these being

My Panny LCD, Yamaha Soundbar, Virgin Media Box and my Panny DVD Recorder, there maybe a PS3 added to that list soon.

The Philips Pronto Pro RU980 seems to pop up a fair bit too but think that might be overkill for what I need.

So to answer your questions in turn

1. At this I'd consider myself a complete idiot but willing to learn (logitech??? lol)
2. Not sure what you mean by the next bit but I assume by macros this is part of setting the unit up manually myself as opposed to me giving it IR Codes?
3. Never used a touchscreen one before but like the Kudos and have no kids or pets to break it, if the Mrs breaks it she gets shouted at and told to buy a replacement!
4. Budget is a big ??? - as i'm not sure the big money neccessarily gets you the product you want but lets say no more than £250

Appreciate your help

Many Thanks

Paul

Macros let you set up commands so if you want to watch a dvd the remote would turn on the tv, dvd player and set the amp to the dvd function.

Cheers Mate, in that case yes macros sound good - plus means the other half might be able to use it! ;)
