All Ireland Ploughing Championships + a few other shots

I don't venture in here often but I thought I should post some of my shots to get a bit of constructive criticism. On Saturday I took a walk down the road to watch the annual All Ireland Ploughing Championships and managed to take a few snaps. My camrea is a Canon EOS 300V 35mm SLR if that makes any difference. I didn't have much time ot set up any shots so I had the camera set to 'point and click' mode.

I also took a few other shots around my dads house...

All criticism welcome, I enjoyed taking the photos and would like to improve at it.

Quite like that shot of Bilbo

The ploughing shots arent bad but a few are spoiled by the cars in the backgrounds. Must have been just about impossible to get rid of them but a couple of shots of the horses with nothing behind them could have really worked very well indeed.
