Welcome to the forums, it is all compatible as far as it goes. Do you have a PCI-E graphics card already because I don't see one in the list?

I'd suggest the Geil PC6400 Ram instead of the Corsair which is cheaper and will perform as well although given the motherboard you have picked isn't great for overclocking you don't really need PC6400, you can get away with PC5300 just as easily. I'd maybe also change the DVDRW for either an NEC or Pioneer but that is mainly personal preference.

i already have pci-e gfx card (old x700)

this computer is not gonna be overclocked, it's mainly a fairly basic pc using modern technology that will be future proof.

interesting point about the ram...will there be a performance drop using cheaper (slower?) memory?

thanks very much for your help :)

No performance drop if you were to pick PC5300/PC5400, if you bought faster Ram then it would aid overclocking but it isn't really necessary here. I guess for the fact that the Geil it is £79.99+Vat for PC5300 and £81.99+Vat for the PC6400 then it does sort-of make sense just buying the PC6400 even if you aren't planning on overclocking but there isn't a need. :)
