The best Type O Album has to be October Rust without a doubt.....it would be in my top 5 albums of all time....or damn near it.

No problem, I could go on for days with lists of metal bands. Avoid any Nu-metal though. SYL is hard to get into, but Devin Townsend is a genius in my opinion. Check out his solo stuff its far more chilled.

If i had to pick metal band to recoment i would go for

Nine inch Nails
Sepultura
Tool
A Perfect Circle
Spineshank are always good for a listen.

Godflesh ["Streetcleaner", "Us & Them", "Selfless", "Godflesh")
Ved Buens Ende ["Written In Waters"]
Arcturus ["The Masquerade Infernale", "The Sham Mirrors"]
Deicide ["Trifixion", "Deicide"]
Napalm Death ["From Enslavement To Obliteration", "Scum"]
Cathedral ["The Forest Of Equilibrium", "The VIIth Coming"]
King Diamond ["Abigail", "The Eye", "Them", "Voodoo"]
Bethlehem ["Dictius Te Necare", "Sardonischer Untergang im Zeichen irreligiöser Darbietung"]
Scorn ["Evanescence", "Vae Solis"]
Death ["Leprosy", "Spiritual Healing"]
ISIS ["Oceanic", "Celestial"]

A bit of everything there - heavy, melodic, intelligent, quirky, influential, industrial, dark, intense... if you don't like any of those, you're in trouble. ;)

Most listened to at the moment:

The Mars Volta - 'De-Loused in the Comatorium'
Queens of the Stone Age - 'Songs for the Deaf'
Opeth - 'Deliverance'
Lacuna Coil - 'Comalies'
Dimmu Borgir - 'Death Cult Armageddon'

Boy, do I have some homework to do now!

Cheers Guys

Paul

EDIT Another quick question, which Cradle of Filth album should I start with?

Also, what are dying Bride like?

first cradle album i would suggest would be middian - tis quite cheap at tesco.com mate;) and prob the best first cradle album to buy because you might find some of the others a little heavy at first imo:)

Gotta agree with 'Midian'........

Personally it's my favourite, with 'Her Ghost in the Fog' etc.

Also try 'Bitter Suites to Succubi' - It came out before their last album and has some great new tracks like 'Born in a Burial Gown' but also has new recordings of some of their older classics.
