So Google has screwed me total over, my ******** is so sore and bloody I now cannot sit down.

My Nexus 4 wifi "connects" but is totally unusable, it doesn't work but looks like it connects. I installed Ubuntu Touch on the phone and the wifi works so it is not a hardware fault.

My Nexus 7 2012 used to work perfectly but now is a total laggy mess thanks to Lollipop.

So what to do? Can I rescue any of these expensive hardware?

Do I simply sack it all off in the bin and just rely on my work phone and get an ipad?

Do Apple have such horrific software issues?
 
Is the N4 and N7 both on Lollipop? Was it fine before on Jelly Bean/KitKat?

I've noticed some little niggles with Lollipop on my N10 as well, but it's only been out for a short while so I suspect there will be OTAs on the way to fix the majority of these problems. The N4 Lollipop update was even delayed due to a wifi issue, what does the build number say on Settings -> About phone? LRX21T is the one that should have the wifi bug fixed. As for the N7... Tegra 3, that's all I'm saying :p.
 
official, N4 has been borked for months, since KK I think. I'm about to cancel my contract as it is totally unusable. Battery drains before you eyes as well.

N7 2012, installed lollipop official on it this week via a notification and now it is a door stop. I cannot watch youtube, it is completely unresponsive like wading through treacle with one leg.

LRX21T is the build number for the NExus 4, it connects to wireless but never gets any data through. It isn't a hardware issue as I installed Ubuntu Touch on the phone last night and wireless works flawlessly on it, I removed it as Ubuntu Touch literately has no apps :( otherwise it had fixed my issues.
 
Apple do the same but a little more sneakily ... with every new release of OS you'll notice the older hardware slowing down until you cave in and buy the latest and greatest slightly bigger iPhone for only the cost of a small family car.
 
I installed Lollipop on my N4 after a full wipe (flashed the stock image, no OTA) and it's perfect.

Did you OTA or dirty flash?
 
Just do a full reset.

I installed Lollipop on my 2012 N7 this morning then did a full reset, its running beautifully.
 
The nexus 4 is effectively dead battery is awful and no Wi-Fi anymore.


The nexus 7 I'll have to flash I think. It had been better tonight but still laggy
 
I'm still waiting for OTA's on stock 2012 N7 and N4, but all this is making me nervous.

So the best way is to update then reset?

It's not a Lollipop issue, since 4.4.4 landed on the 2012 Nexus 7, my WiFi states it is connected and works for 2 minutes then drops. Have to turn WiFi off an back on to get it working. Tried a few factory resets etc, all other WiFi connections stay solid.

There is an antenna fix for the 2012 Nexus 7 which I am thinking of trying.

Great attitude! But do flash the nexus 4 :) you could just have a crap kernel, rogue app in the BG etc! N4s battery is nothing to talk about but it should still do 3ish hours of screen on time.
