I'm just saying it made me laugh because of how pathetic it was.

Definitely has issues saying things like that. I'd get that looked at.
I found with my Nexus 7, after upgrading to Lollipop (clean flash) that it was like waiding through treacle!
I then found a suggestion online that 'Google Currents' was the culprit, Apparently the update were constantly pinging google and 1, draining the battery and 2, Slowing the system.
I opened Currents, to be told that it's now all covered by 'Play Newstand' went into the settings and changed them to 'Download while charging only' (as I only plug it in at night, so it can do it while I sleep!).
I then went into the Account settings for my gmail, and unticked the sync for everything I don't use (movies, docs, sheets, slides etc...), also turn off Farcebork and ******* notifications as they drin the battery!!
It's like a new tablet!! nice a fluid, no freezing, or stuttering during music playback!!! and the battery lasts ages!!
