All my Sandisk 16gb Cards hold different amounts of images ?

I have just wiped all my images from all my Scandisk cards all of them 16GB and everyone of them gives me a different reading on how many images they can store in RAW ?

One of them will only hold 307 images and another one 507 ? lol how is this possible when they are 16GB ? completely confused. :rolleyes:

Surely it depends on the size of the RAW image? Unless I'm missing something about how that format works?

I can hold 10,000 MP3s (320kbps) on my HDD
I can hold 3,000 WAV on my HDD.

HDD is still the same size, quality of music changes?

EDIT: Still not sure if my brain is working.. Cause, I think I know what you mean.

Know what you mean but I'm guessing he means when he first inserts the card into the camera the number that appears on the clean cards is different. I've no idea either, there's a fair difference between 500 and 300, fake card maybe.

I would go with this, only buy cards from reputable places and just be prepared to pay the going rate.

This. Where did you buy it from?
I've got 4x 16gb Sandisk Ultra and 4x 16gb Lexar Pro and they all hold exactly the same number.

Think these three have hit the nail on the head. Where were the cards purchased from? All of my cards that are the same size hold the same amount of images when inserted into my camera.

Are both freshly formatted cards?
If yes, and you bought it from ebay chances are it's a fake Sandisk.

Assuming different cameras, check the settings are the same. File type and ISO.

Well I'm sending them back to Amazon then as that's where i got them from ! The ones where you don't get any packaging ! I also looked on the back on the all ones that hold the most images after cleaned have Sandisk printed on them

don't get me wrong I have used these for the past year and never noticed until recently lol & have always worked great . I future ill make sure they have from amazon only and will check them once I get them right away.
