As the title says. I had 3 radiators in my previous loop; 560mm, 240mm and 120mm. I was using mayhems red dye. Now whatever I do, the radiators keep staining the water. I have bought new radiators for my current build but I will still like to clean up those rads. Any help will be appreciated.

Try the blitz kit on them - that should do the trick.

White Vinegar or Lemon Juice, had the same problem with Red it's a pain in the ass, keeps reappearing.

Full the rads with hot water then a few drops or Vinegar or Lemon, let them sit for about 30 mins then shake, repeat til they are clear, Tried Blitz what you have in a cupboard is just as good.

Rustyone Im sorry, nothing under you sink is the same as Mayhems Blitz what so ever. You cannot even get what we make any ware else as its made in house and to a custom spec,. Also vinegar makes you system acidic and although will strip away some copper patina it will not do what the blitz kit does. There is world of a difference between a apple and a orange.

The fact that you can't get it anywhere else is hardly a point to make it a good product.

I takes many flushes to get the foam out with the sytem flush nearly 6 litres of distilled water, and the rad clean part only removed some copper the rad was still stained, but the vinegar flush removed it.

My Mayhems went in the bin after one use, waste of money, but of course dye will stain parts and remain in the system to contaminate the next water filled in, basically the best option is to stick with the same colour, or don't use dye.

Well - not to dis your experience with the mayhems blitz, but may be you did not use it correctly, or follow the instructions? My experience is the opposite - I had previously used mayhems pastel red, but the blitz kit got my rads nice and clean before I changed to white and then later to x1 clear. I still think it is a good product and works imho.

I too have used the Blitz on Pastel and Dyes and every time it does a stellar job of removing it and keeping my next fill nice and clean.

I've used the blitz as well. Better that anything I've tried before to remove the dye stains. Pity it can't be used on other parts of the loop.

I used Isopropyl 99% alcohol did the job amazingly, it's pretty cheap at around £15 for 5 liters, lasts forever and doesn't damage the copper

Thats one of the reasons to stay away from dyes.

Mayhams say they have non-staining dyes, why sell one that does stain in the first place?

Dyes are dyes and none stain ones are new to market how ever there are limited colours.

Very few days do stain and they only stain under certain conduction, why do you think they are called "DYES" .....

Think it's a bit risky with vinegar, whilst it may give it a good clean it will probably eat away at the copper =/

Think it would need to be left in the rads for far too long for that to really happen - think the bigger problem with vinegar is nullifying the acidity for the new fluid, as it would upset the PH values.

All the cleaners clean the Copper DeOxidise inc Mayhems, you are just flushing with a few drops of vineger in the water, Hot water shake empty refill shake etc, when the dye has vanished, flush with tap water, finish with distilled flush.

Ah that makes sense. I guess you really need to flush it through once finished

In the Mayhems kit we have a Part two formula which then nullifies the acid and makes it PH stable. We are the only company to do this and we are the only company world wide with such a kit.

Now if you are going to use vinegar then use Bicarbonate of soda to do the same sort of job, its not as good as Part two or the basic version of the blitz kit but will stop the acid destroying any further additives you add into your system.
