Hi Guys,

Im currently specing a PC for a friend at work, he is looking to spend around the £400 mark for the thing but it needs to be a good all rounder e.g internet, light gaming (SWTOR or Star Trek Online mainly), basic photo editing and watching film's (DVD is fine I think he would rather Blu-Ray tho)

He needs the base unit, keyboard and mouse as he will be using his TV as his monitor.

He will need Wi-Fi as well.

I have so far came up with this .......

Any improvements?

That's a toughie to spec for that price, but I think you've hit the nail on the head essentially. Especially with a SSD and HDD in there as well, the onboard graphics should carry him over on those games until he can get a dedicated in there.

:)

Would you need to Alpenföhn Civetta CPU Cooler with the A8? Would have thought the retail would have been enough.

I've used the A8K, the stock heatsink is tiny, I didn't overclock with it but for stock clocks it's fine. Easy enough to add a better heatsink later.

A85 mobo, 2TB HDD to store his movie collection on, has double the capacity and cache of the toshiba but is an eco drive (5900rpm). Better case and the modular version of the corsair PSU

Cheers Hon, some of your spec isn't in stock tho :(

Yeah it happens :( You can still place the order and they will dispatch it all once in stock. I'd prefer to wait and get certain parts rather than compromise for something that's in stock.
