All those with a steering wheel....

made my own 'castor cups' out of:
empty jellybean tub x2
carpet tape
some HD foam leftovers
anti slip rubber mat thing.

My carpets quite thick so its hard to move backwards my pedals on the other hand slide forward, got a rubber none slip mat today to put under them seems to work.

Quick question, what do you do if you have a chair with wheels on it? How do you stop yourself from pushing yourself back under hard braking?

You put a carpet or mat under it? I have a carpet with a mat on top (to prevent severe wear to the carpet underneath) and I have the opposite problem I have to push quite hard just to get the chair back just so I can get up out of the seat. :)

I'm fat, so my chair won't move. No seriously I had this problem but recently I had new carpet fitted and luckily we were able to get the really deluxe thick pile so the wheels can't really move unless massive force is applied. What I prior to this (had the horrible laminate) was to tape up a few wheels (not ideal)

I bought a set of these. stops the chair moving on a carpet.

Chair Sliders

I have something similar to those. I got anti vibration castors made for my chair as I have a bass shaker attached to the underside of the seat and back. The vibrations carried throughout the house and rattled the chandelier in the room below. With the rubber castors it has stopped and also naturally stops the chair from moving.
