Probably should have posted this before I went. Anyway I had one on Tuesday and apart from feeling totally conned I thought I would see what others have experienced on here.
After some research I found out that I was tested using the NAET technique (so no bloods). It is based on kinetic energies and electromagnetic pulses that are given out (or not) when an allergen is introduced to the subject. More detail is on Wiki.
So it found out that I am allergic to: yeast, crab, prawn, mixed grasses, cat fur and minor on egg yolk and white.
She gave me the yeast free diet sheet of things to avoid and a bunch of supplements that I could have bought online for a third or half what I paid (I tried to remember what she was suggesting but my pony brain couldn't take it down). Oh well. You live and learn. If she does contact me in 8 weeks I won't be going for a re-test or buying anymore stuff from her and I will be telling her that.
Being allergic - or intolerant to yeast isn't life threatening and most of the foods on the diet sheet I don't eat anyway (thanks to FF as he is my own personal nutritionist
lol). I think the main thing that we established from this exercise that I need to stay away from shellfish - the main reason for going in the first place.
Tldr The question is: has anyone else done an allergy test and what was your experience? Can anyone recommend a 'proper' testing centre?
Thanks.
