Alloy Wheels - Declare?

See this is stupid because if you then buy the car second hand and then don't know the sat nav wasn't a factory fit option or the xenons the insurance end up not paying out...

I think not somehow.

My car has stuff that was optional extras, should i class the sunglasses holder / floor mats / ESP / Rain sensing wipers and such...

It's slightly different for second hand buyers, as they are not necessarily expected to know every possible change that's been made.

Knowing changing something and not informing your insurance company is a totally different matter.

But they're still Ford alloys. For all they know they could have come with the car as an optional extra.

I don't remember having to tell your insurance company about optinal extras on the car. I presumed they were OK with them aslong as they were just optional extras and not aftermarket tat.

I told my insurance company my ST24 had the RSAP kit with it, as I think this was an option - better safe than sorry I say.

Scort.

How on earth are leather going to increase your risk? I really don't see why some of this stuff really matters... but I guess statistics are used and charges are made regardless.

I might tell my insurance about the curry stain on my cars carpet, I wonder if that will change my premium. :D

It wasn't so your just paying extra for no reason, unless your car is one of the very early saloons that didn't come with it. Was only an option on non ST cars like the GhiaX

Friend had an Escort with Ford alloys on. Car was crashed and they noticed it should have had normal wheels and not alloys. They didnt pay out. Car was roughly the value of his excess so no biggy - but I wouldnt risk it.
