Alone in the dark --- Wii version

Are you sure it isn't a fake? Seems like 360/PS3 version to me. Graphics seem to good for the Wii tbh

I'm pretty sure this is from the 360 version as at 1:20 there is a sequence showing the inventory, there appears to be visual representations of both the directional pad and the shoulder buttons of the 360 controller.

I stand to be corrected though.

What the hell, is the Wii more powerful than the original Xbox or not? I don't think any game on Wii has even matched Xbox graphics yet, or has it??

I stand to be corrected, I'm not being fanboyish, I just got a Wii last week but still, it's quite odd...

Wii is all about gameplay, not graphics :) saying that- RE4 and twilight princess aren't bad graphics - but as said above- most of the nintendo games are based around 'cartoon-esque' graphics :)

Funny that, especially as Galaxy has been rated the highest ever score for gameplay across all platforms :p

It all depends on what you want out of gaming really :)

Galaxy's good, but what about the rest of the library? The Wii still has the weakest software library of the three current consoles. I have like ten PS3 games and ten Xbox 360 games, while the Wii was languishing in 2-game hell, only to be sold off for a tidy profit. I really can't see anything drawing me back to the platform.

The Wii isn't heading into a gameplay-oriented direction - it's for casual gamers and party games and so on. Galaxy and Prime 3 were made to appease the hardcore Nintendo demographic- a minority on Wii. Either that, or ports. The majority of those who want gaming akin to the PS3 and 360 ('hardcore' gaming as some put it) won't find their fix in the Wii.

Personally I think the Wii has more worthwhile games than the PS3 at the moment.

Galaxy is awesome. :D:D:D

About the graphics, I'm not sure if the Wii is unable to produce them or if developers aren't trying hard enough.

I saw Scarface on the original Xbox...the Wii version looks worse. :|

It's the latter. There's been a ridiculous amount of PS2 to Wii ports, and the PS2 wasn't as good visually as the Gamecube was. That would account for a fair percentage of games (for example Scarface).

I think also there's a huge amount of pressure - I think devs want to push games out quickly, but instead of concentrating on the controls and graphics, they focus on just the controls. It's as if the non-standard controls have taken part of the graphical development of a lot of Wii titles.

If you look at Galaxy, and Prime 3 in particular, the Wii is capable of absolutely lovely graphics. Easily as good as anything on the Xbox I've played. Prime 3 is fantastic and consistently at 60FPS. The controls are what makes it for me though, so it's not as if you can't have your cake and eat it on the Wii.

Generally a good proportion of Wii games are nice enough to look at. Zelda was a good port from the GC with 480p and 16:9 (I've ended up owning both) with a fantastic art style; Zack & Wiki is a very nice looking game and so is Battalion Wars. Most of Nintendo's own titles, such as Strikers, also have quick, fluid and reasonably well detailed graphics that aren't as bland as the PS2 ports we've seen.

Kreeee, out of interest, where would you place SSMB graphically amongst Galaxy and Prime 3?
