Hi,

I built my first mini-itx PC in the Dan Case A4 and installed the Alpenfohn blackridge with Noctua NF-A9x14 92mm fan. I followed a Dan Case build by Optimum Tech.

The fan is noisy. Much more so than my graphics card (3060Ti). The biggest issue for me is not so much the noise but the wine. A high pitched fan noise that is almost always present under light load or higher.

I've seen some users say the cooler/fan is silent, I've seen others say that is a known characteristic, so I'm not sure if this is normal operation or I've not installed it correctly? Any recommendations before a try the Noctua L9?

I assume Dan Case A4 is almost touching Black Ridge, and assume A4 has vent over cooler finpack. What is fan speed and CPU temp?
Have you tried removing sidecover to see if noise is vent related?

Good point - I hadn't removed the sidecover but just did and it made no difference at all in terms of the noise. At very low use, essentially just chrome, it is about 1700-1800RPM. CPU temps are just under 40 degrees at this workload. CPU is Ryzen 5 3600X

Thanks for your help!
