just bought the - Alpenföhn Nordwand CPU Cooler

for my AM3 phenom2 965 and put it on this board Asus Crosshair III Formula AMD 790FX.

Put on the bracket that goes behind the board and then "eventually" managed to get the massive heat sink on, and realised it had slightly warped the board, This obviously is not a good sign, though its only a minor bend on the board. just was wondering if any one else had the same issue? or if will damage the mobo?

I havnt turned it on yet!! BTW should i? lol
 
Minor MB warping is nothing to worry about - it's a natural occurence with some third party coolers and will be ironed out when the MB is fitted
 
No worries - it's an understandable concern if you haven't witnessed it before.

That's a healthy looking rig you've assembled in your sig – I hope all goes smoothly.

Unfortunately, you will have to edit said sig to just 4 lines of consecutive text - otherwise the forum mods will shoot you on sight;).

Below is a quote form the Forum FAQ to give you an idea of sig size:

If no images are used then up to 4 consecutive lines of normal or smaller text is permitted. Do not pad out your text lines with blanks lines. A line of text is defined as having a maximum length of 400 pixels. If you want to turn the signature off in the future, you can come back and edit your post. If you have specified a signature in your profile, the box will be automatically ticked for you.
