Possibly the best made game ever?

What I love about the game is that all the factions are unique and have real personality, which is built up throughout the game (i.e through tech quotes etc). I've lost hundreds of hours to this game.

My favourite factions were the Drones and The Morgans, I use to love crushing the Hive and Pirates. Those attack helicopters in the game were amazing as they could attack several units per turn.

Lets have some love for this game :D
 
A mate mentioned that a while back, and he sais its his fave game... I saw it not that long ago in a junk shop and snapped it up.

Not tried it though, so I might just give it a whirl if you think its that good?

Defo, If you can get past the graphics the gameplay is the best you will find in any game. Especially true if you like either turn based games and/or Science Fiction. Let us know what you think :).

I grew up with computers before they had colours or sound, and a lot of the games yonks ago were ASCII.. .As in, you fly the Letter "O" and shoot a decimal point at the letter "X" kind of game ( Yes, you oldies know what I mean )

So, gameplay is vastly more important for me than graphics ( Although these days the graphics dont half such you into a game dont they? )

Ok, I will install it later on and get back on it.
 
In my own humble opinion the best turn based strategy game ever. Much prefered combat in this game to the civilization games. Wish that firaxis would give it a facelift! Alpha Centauri 2 not Civ5 next please!

Yep I agree but sadly Civ appeals to a broader market than a science fiction one.
 
Heh, what a coincidence, I ordered Civ 2 (LOVED IT!) and Alpha Centauri (missed it so far :eek: :eek: ) for a tenner today, updated to run on XP as well.
