At last finally recieved by Alphacool Laing DDC Ultra and plexitop today. Gonna be installing it into my loop later on tonight. To place it pump in my loop it would be easier to use the top inlet on the plexitop. Just wondering if there are any disadvantages or advantages to using the top inlet other that it being easier to put in my loop :)

Advantage = higher flow

Disadvantage = less head

There is a mod for the plexi top where you increase the outlet/inlet size which also increases flow.
The ultra has a massive head anyway and as such you won't have any problems.

The tests from respected people over at XS shows that is is better NOT to mod the Plexitop and leave it as stock. The head loss outweighs the flow increase. The unmodded AC Plexi top is one of the best performers on the market.
 
ok cheers guys, think i'll use the top inlet then :)
just one question. How much does the max head actually decrease by? Found info on the net saying the flow increases by so much but nothing about how much the head decreases by
 
I'm using the radiical top on mine,got it a few weeks back,all the way from oz :D
