Designed by Daniel Hansen, creator of the one only Dan Case, Alphenfohn have released the Black Ridge compact CPU cooler for use in his award winning small form factor case. it's a tiny cooler at just 47mm in height and looks pretty sleek in jet black.
Features of the Alpenföhn Black Ridge at a glance:
- Designed with the fan between the base plate and the heat sink. (can be top mounted)
- Low volume 92 mm fan PWM fan (with 120mm fan configurations using very low profile RAM)
- 6 x 6 mm copper heatpipes
- Slim heat sink with aluminum fins
Alpenföhn has managed to reduce the height of this cooler to just 47 millimeters by putting the 92-millimeter fan not at the top but at the bottom of the cooler. This reduces both height and noise, with the Black Ridge operating at just 14dB (A) on minimum output with a max output of 37.6 dB under full load.
It's compatible with RAM up to 33 millimeters in height. If you use low VLP (Very Low Profile) RAM instead, you can also replace the 92mm fan with a 120mm, covering the entire surface of the heatsink. It can also be attached to the top of the cooler, if the space is available in your case.
The 92mm fan delivers high efficiency cooling for its size, It generates 2,800 revolutions with an airflow of 47 CFM, which more than enough to cope with the power loss of a CPU of 95 watts TDP.
