Ive use this program for a few weeks and whilst ive deleted things from the download folder and removed things from the que they still seem to be taking up hard drive space?

Windows is showing about 20+ gb used up for just windows xp and a few small apps. Where as in control panel add/remove it shows alt binz as being a 12gb program.

Any idea as to how i get this space back pleasE?

cheers

I have found there are 2 types who use news groups , those that know what they are doing
and those that dont

The dont camp subscribe to news groups(eg alt.binaries.games) and do updates on them searching for stuff thru the lists ( waste full in the extreme )
So each of the headers for the subjects take a bit of space x by thousands of them starts to equal gigs of space.

The knowing crowd use nzb search sites like:
http://www.newzleech.com/
or
https://www.binsearch.info/
To find Nzb's for what they are looking for

Advice: Start searching for stuff , or lower the cache size allocated for headers

excuseeeeeeee me, i know all the places to look thanks and the search engines to use and subscribe to loads.

i certainly dont do it the way you suggest. how ever thanks for the answer even though its some what irrelavent here

Now can anyone actually help me out here?

Check out "C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Alt.Binz\temp\" and see if Alt.binz has filled that up with a load of stuff.

If the folder above doesn't exist then go into the Alt.Binz setup & go to the "Temporary Folder" location.

im using windows xp if that makes a difference.

dont think i have that folder on my xp machine.

right whilst windows control panel addremove shows alt.binz as being 12gb in size it seems it was actually peer guardian?

Dunno what thats all about, Ive just deleted the folder anyhow as i use a custom script in u torrent to download block lists
