ALT + F4 on desktop windows 8

Is by far the fastest way to shut down/restart/sleep windows. Accidently did it and I'm impressed makes perfect sense. GJ

I created sleep and shutdown shortcut tiles on the 'start' menu. This is pretty quick too.

I just do settings and power because my keyboard is often too far away when I'm slouching, it's 2 clicks lol, you can't get much easier than that.

ALT + F4 doesn't do anything here in win 8 when on the desktop

If i have my computer open, sometimes ill press alt+f4 and it will prompt for shutdown method even if my computer is select and in the foreground. Just doesnt work sometimes, when it does its handy though.

Windows + I and then click on power
or
Press the power button on my keyboard
or
Press the power button on my computer

Eh? That commands wouldn't work. Just use cmd instead

Just stab the 'Power Button' on my computer, It's much faster!

Saves on moving the mouse to the top corner, then selecting 'Shut Down'.

my off button is located slightly under my desk, with minimal light. I have to use my other senses to locate this button, as I am going in blind.

I know I also have a conveniently located power button. I just thought I'd share it as I've never had a reason to press Alt + F4 on the desktop So I've never done it and was suprised that it actually did it. so figured I'd share as I realise a few people were annoyed at the start menu change and removal of the quick shutdown button.
