Alt-Tab disables crossfire?

Hello,
My crossfire setup has been running fine for a few weeks now but with BF4's release and its many problems I have been messing about with a few power settings, now I thought I had reset everything back to normal and I have re-enabled ULPS and re-disabled ULPS in Afterburner but I can't seem to sort it. I noticed BF4 started performing worse a few days ago but just thought it was the game but tonight it was even worse and tried Heaven and when I start it runs in crossfire but as soon as I tab out and back in, lower FPS and checking Afterburner shows that there is no GPU2 usage after tabbing back in. BF4 seems to do the same although it does bring GPU2 back in but with a lot more stutter? As if its shutting on and off again.

I made sure all cables were in place and its fine, the GPU-Z render test also keeps both GPU's going at 100% so don't think its a hardware issue. Running 13.11 beta 7 drivers.

Its late now but before I do a driver/afterburner full reinstall is there a common issue i'm not aware of or something it most likely is?

Cheers.

I understand that, what I mean is, I load up say Heaven its working fine, tab out to look at afterburner both GPU's were being used but now GPU2 is 0 due to tab out. Tab back in and FPS much lower, give it a few seconds tab out look at afterburner and GPU2 never kicked back in once I re-entered the application.

Hmm thats a strange one. I don't have that problem when i alt tab out. Have you tried disabling ULPS?

I have had this also. I ALT+TAB from Sleeping Dogs, and only the first card works after that and the second GPU shows 0%. I have found that if you ALT+TAB and then to enable fullscreen actually go into the Graphics Options and hit Fullscreen, it enables CF again. Weird one

Not had it happen in BF4 though -> One thing in a million other bugs

Does this only happen with certain games?
It could be when you alt+tab back into those games they are in Borderless Window mode, rather than Fullscreen mode.

Try this after alt+tabbing back into a game: ALT+ENTER. That switches to full screen mode.
