forgive me i have not even looked yet, but just been away at a IT conference and seen a lot of peoiple using ipads for notes, and kind of got me thinking what else is due.

don't get me wrong i think apple are great, but for me i don't really want any of there products, im a android and windows man, and would like something that runs that so i can have a better link up with my current droid phone and windows pc/laptop.

so anything due out that excites ?

Dell will be releasing larger versions of the Streak - Android 2.1 at the moment I think, with 2.2 due ASAP.

HP will be releasing a tablet based on WebOS.

Blackberry have been playing with a tablet design.

Samsung are releasing a Galaxy Touch (or something like that), again on Android.

yeah i guess it will be a waiting game, and fair play to apple for getting there and does look like a nice bit of kit, but as i said i want something that is gonna sync in with what i already have, cheers chaps

i have a HTC desire, which is basically a android iphone, im just thinking something a little bigger. cheers for the link admoo

Msi are meant to be releasing a couple of versions in the 2nd half of the year. Win7 and android versions.

Asus pads aren't due till 2011.

And I'm not convinced any will be as good as the ipad. These devices are built around the UI and don't need to do a lot of tasks. But we shall see. be nice if the msi ones are good expected tp coming in at around £300.

Huawei S7 Android Tablet
£300, Android 2.1, 7 inch screen, 256mb ram, sim card slot. But you'll have to supply a memory card.

Bit annoying really, there were dozens of working models displayed at the beginning of January by multiple companies. They had a 1 month headstart (before the iPad was announced) and very few have come to market yet. :(

Looks like a couple more options are appearing - I'm currently eyeing up the zenithink zt-180 (10.1") available on fleabay. 1Ghz processor and a reasonable amount of RAM - plus it now has the Android Marketplace app and rumours of an update to Android 2.1 - just wish I could find some reliable reviews - at £160 it's got that whole "too good to be true" vibe going on.

yeah i saw that, i would be very wary buying anything without 2.1, as there could well be issues with it not getting 2.1 and that is a must now really, im gonna sit and wait. but like i said, not an apple fan at all! - but fair play to them

I'd recommend a Pen/paper (save yourself £448.62), or a netbook. You can load a variety of impressive operating systems onto most netbooks, so your hands are not bound in any way. They're very small too.
