I just wanna check this will be ok before I go ahead and do it. I currently have a 1TB HDD split 146 for OS and programs and 785 for storage. I want 80gb (Maybe 100gb) for OS alone, 150gb for programs and the rest for storage.

1. Move all stuff I want that is currently on small partition (Including Steam and all installed games; if I move these will they still work fine?) to the bigger partition.
2. In disk management, shrink smaller drive to 80/100gb.
3. Presumably then as there will be space unused i'll be able to format and expand that available space.

Is there anything wrong with what i'm about to do? I'm particularly interested in whether or not I can just move Steam over partitions with no side affects.

I think you'll need a more powerful partition tool than that which is build in to windows...

Also, if you copy stuff to another drive it will only work if you use the drive letter from the old drive, as everything is linked to in the registry through that drive letter.

steam wil be fine...all u will need to do is:
delete the steam shortcuts from the desktop
once u have moved the steam folder then start steam from its new location.
once started then create all new shortcuts by right clicking on the games in steam.

yup...its that simple
