Hello everyone,
Just looking for advice regarding an upgrade for my setup. I have been out of PC building scene for some 20y+(yes IBM CPU 386SX 20mhz or Cyrix 166MHZ was my era lol), so I am completely out of depth what's going on atm.
Basicly bought used Lenovo M720T, 9th I7, 40GB RAM, 180W PSU, came with GT710 2GB, onboard UHD 630, Expansion Slots
• One PCIe 3.0 x16, half-length (< 189mm) full-height (< 104mm)
• Two PCIe 3.0 x1, half-length (< 189mm) full-height (< 104mm)
Pc is going to be used for rendering 4k/8k recordings of local grassroots footbal matches, so current GPU is quite poor for the jobs. I am using 3x 2k monitors atm and I would like that to be the case after upgrade(all either VGA,DVI or HDMI)
I am looking for best upgrade option that fill fit into current MOBO, something used that won't break the bank £50/60 max, so far GTX 1050 ti 4GB or RX 550 4GB are within price range. I don't think I can go anything bigger that'd requires external power to GPU.
I thought I ask on here before hitting BUYITNOW button.
Your help and opinion is much appreciated
Thanks
Andre

Not sure about encoding performance specifically, but the 1050 Ti is a much faster card in games and I suspect the encoder/decoder is likely to be superior to Polaris.

The 9th gen i7 might well be better than the GT 710 for this usage.
100% agree- UHD 630 is doing better job than GT710, hence I want it replaced with something superior of UHD630, that wont break the bank yet helps with rendering of Insta360 8k recordings
