Want a laptop for gaming and watching blurays ...

Ideally I want an 18 inch screen, but those seem rarer than rocking horse poo these days (I remember there being 20inch ones before... someone bring them back!)... Full HD.
Got to be capable of playing the current crop of games on at least mostly good detail...

And ideally cheaper than an Alienware

There is basically no market for 20 inch laptops any more. No-one is carrying around something that huge and in that case, an all-in one desktop system would be more suitable.

Yeah, but I cant use an all in one desktop on my lap when I'm laying about in bed

I know they wont do a 20inch laptop again, but I can lament the sad passing of the uber-laptop

Ooh, they do a 18" one... only a GTX560 though hmmm

Of course, as Alienware were so pricey I did think about building an mITX system that could do blurays and internet-ing that would fit in one of those cases meant to be put on the back of monitors and then bolt the whole thing together on a wall-mount arm thing and mount it on the wall next to the bed... just thought a laptop would be easiest... hmm many thinkings to do

Search google uk for vortex 3. It's a clevo chassis, can custom build them with whatever spec u want, with the latest gpu's.

Oh that's much better priced! And given that it's just a "laptop" shape rather than some fancy design they probably wont have opted for a slot-loading optical drive which was something putting me off Alienware - used to have a slot loading stereo at work once and all the shop CDs were scuffed around the edge where the wheel had rubbed little marks onto them.

Hmm
