Afternoon OcUK!

I currently run my NAS at home on an Atom D510 box, with FreeNAS software on there. Unfortunately I've recently wanted to use it as a media server rather than just a fileserver, and I've discovered that without upgrading software and playing around with 3rd party plugins (in beta) there isn't a media server option.

Whilst I'm more than capable of doing this, it's a bit of a "straw that broke the camel's back" since I have never been that pleased with the FreeNAS UI, or power management, or requirement for a bespoke (ZFS) filesystem, so I was wondering what other alternatives people would recommend? Essential requirements are Media Server, decent power management (ideally a full power off after x time idle), and good web UI.

Cheers!

Sorry for the slow reply Essex, yes, it's FreeNAS 8. I'm on the official release, but can move to the Betas if that's my best option, it just seems that the uPNP support is still a bit hit and miss...
