Alternative to iTunes ?

I'd like to download high quality MP3s which aren't destined for iPods not to mention the crummy bit rate

Legal of course - but what's out there?

OP did say legal.
Not really a great deal of choice out there at the moment....most other sites just strive to offer the same amount of tunes as iTunes and are at the same bitrate.

Only ones I can think of at the moment.

I personally prefer iTunes for it's simplicity. Plus the fact that I use it with my iPod.
