Alternative to reseller hosting

I have 2/3 domains I need to host, previously I have gone for reseller hosting but have found them to be quite expensive in comparison. What are my alternatives to a reseller account for hosting my domains?

Vidahost have their starter pack, which gives you 5 addon domains. So, you can run 5 domains - using 1 Cpanel - no reseller hosting necessary.

I have one of these accounts that I use for personal sites.

Was about £30 quid last time I looked, for 12 months.

Check OChostreview too.

Vidahost.com's started package is priced so well, 20 MySql databases, 10 emails, 25gb data transfer and 250mb space, I'm well chuffed at that for about £35 I think, check it out :)

Lol, sounds like I'm getting paid to advertise it but it's just bloody good :p

Vidahost addon's sound perfect, this is the type of thing i'm looking for.

How do they work? Is this a standard option in hosting or something I would need to pay extra for? Does it act as a redirect or would it behave just like a standard reseller account?

You mean you want to host them all on the same hosting? I do that with 3 domains at the moment and it's dead simple. I've basically got 'upleft' in the root and then 2 others in their own subfolders and the add-on domains just link to the subfolders and take that as the domain, simple to set up. :)

With some privacy and ftp security you could set that up for a client easily I reckon.

Yeah thats correct, but from the outside I don't want it to look as if the domains are not being parked want it done properly really.

Might go for the 2nd tier of Vidahost, looks pretty much bang on to me.

Addon domains should suit you fine as that's just how they work - basically by altering the DocumentRoot of the domain. No redirects or other trickery :)

For just a few domains, Addon domains are probably the best option. Probably always possible to upgrade should you need to - depends on the host and on your account, etc.
