Alternative to swapping my receiver's HDMI inputs

I've got a 5.1 Onkyo receiver with 3 HDMI inputs and 1 output. This is fine but I've recently purchased a 4th HDMI input device which I like to plug into the receiver. I have to therefore swap this input with one of the others every time I want to use it.

I just wondered if there was any solution to this other than buying a receiver with more HDMI inputs? Some sort of HDMI switcher / extender? Really can't find anything though but not entirely sure what I should be looking for.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks, I was searching for things like "HDMI port" etc. Was getting myself in a muddle. I can see straight away that a 3 in 1 out auto switch should do the job fine.

I'd HIGHLY recommend you get a 5 in 1 out or something similar.

I had exactly the same problem as you and found that if you have two devices plugged into your receiver then 2 plugged into a switch it's just a world of hurt in getting the right things switched over - not necessarily for you but for any other family member in the household.

You're far better off having your receiver set to use only one HDMI in the do all your HDMI switching via your separate switch. At the same time save up for a better receiver with more inputs :)

I used to use the "Neet® - 5 Port HDMI AUTO SWITCH BOX with REMOTE". Worked a treat before I bought my replacement receiver.

Personally, I'd want to leave certain things connected directly to the receiver. My Onkyo knows the specific settings I want for specific devices based on the inputs they use, so just using one port would mean having to change sound modes etc each time as well.

Of course, it all depends on how you've got things set up.
