Need some software to edit HD TV recordings ie remove ads which are H264/AVC streams tried the demo of VideoReDo TVSuite which works really well and is easy to use but is a bit on the expensive side about £60

Have tried a few cheaper bit's of software but there not a patch on VideoRedo so before i splash the cash are there any other alternatives out there

I have video re-do but not the HD version and i must say its the best piece of software i have! Its great at what it does, i had considered paying out for the tv suite to get the hd codec but like you mention its a tad expensive but i doubt there is anything on par with it

VideoRedo is not cheap but it does exactly what it says on the tin. There are freeware tools, the best of them is probably AviDemux but if theres any problems in the stream, video or audio glitches or anything not quite right, forget it. VR is the only thing that can deal with troublesome files in my experiance.

Bit late as you've already bought it but I think DVD Catalyst can transcode the .wtv HD files into another format that you would be able to edit.

I'm not 100% as I only bought it yesterday and have been testing a little but when I had a go it seemed to work.

Of course it adds another step to the process but it's worth a try, t'is only $9.95 as well.

Videoredo is handy but I've kept being put off because of the price. :(
