Alternative wireless card for Dell vostro?

Hi all, i have a dell vostro with a dodgy inbuilt 3945abg wireless card.

Are there any different models of internal wireless cards that may fit the vostro 1500? My acer aspire one seems to pick signals up much better with its atheros wifi card but this will not fit in the dell.

Any advice appreciated

Why not get a card that slots into the slot on the side of the laptop? PCMCIA Card, or is it the Express type...I forget, and I haven't got my laptop with me right now, which is a Vostro 1510.

yep, im aware of the pcmcia ta but want internal card

try the latest intel connection utilties / drivers before you abondon the inbult unit

going from mircrosft connection untilty to intel seems to help sopme as bizzarely does going the other way
